Uses your real Canvas weights

Finals Calculator

Stop guessing what the final is worth: ClassOS reads the weights and does the math

The Finals Calculator takes your current grade, your course's real assignment-group weights from Canvas, and tells you the score you need on the final for the letter grade you want.

The math it actually does

what you have

the final, at the weight Canvas reports

the letter you want

Weights come from Canvas, not from a guess.

Why this matters

The week the group chat starts guessing

The week before finals, every group chat has a different version of what you need on the final, and none of them know how your professor weighted the categories. ClassOS reads the real assignment group weights from Canvas and gives you the score for the letter grade you want, including the honest answer when that grade is no longer reachable.

What you get

The exact percentage you need on each final, per course

Reads assignment-group weights straight from Canvas: no manual entry

Targets for every letter grade, not just the one you asked about

Flags the courses where your target is no longer reachable

Shares its math with the GPA Simulator so the two never disagree

Hands the number to Scout, which turns it into a study plan

How it works

  1. 1

    Pick the course

Every course ClassOS synced from Canvas is listed with its current grade and how much of the term is already graded.

  2. 2

    Pick the grade you want

Choose your target letter grade. ClassOS solves for the final-exam score that gets you there, using the weights Canvas reports for that course.

  3. 3

    See what's reachable

If the target needs a 104, ClassOS says so instead of quietly rounding. You get the real number, and the next-best letter grade that is still in play.

Common questions

Where do the weights come from?

From Canvas. ClassOS syncs your course's assignment groups and their weights, so the math matches whatever your professor set up rather than assuming every category counts equally.

What if my professor doesn't use weighted groups?

Then ClassOS falls back to total points earned over total points possible, which is exactly how an unweighted course is graded.

Is the Finals Calculator free?

Yes. Same as the GPA Simulator. It reads data you already synced and runs no AI, so there is nothing to meter.
